2024 (Outdoor): Second-Team All-American… appeared in 10 meets… aided the 4x100m relay squad to a school-record time of 38.90 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships… at the NCAA West Preliminary, posted a long jump mark of 7.63m (25-0.5) and helped the 4x100m relay team to a time of 39.28… was the 21st-ranked long jumper in the nation prior to the NCAA West Preliminary… recorded wins in both the long jump (7.66m/25-1.75) and the 4x100m (39.46) at the 129th Big Meet, the latter of which was a meet record… at the Mt. SAC Relays, won the 4x100m relay race with his squad (39.56) and posted a wind-legal PR of 7.80m (25-7.25) in the long jump, fifth farthest in program history… helped the 4x100m relay squad to a time of 39.31 at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays… leaped to a wind-aided 7.86m (25-9.5) in the long jump and posted a personal-best 10.59 in the 100m at the Hornet Invitational, after which he was named the Pac-12 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week… CSC Academic All-America (Third Team)… USTFCCCA All-Academic.
2024 (Indoor): Appeared in three meets for the Bears… raced to a time of 6.72 in the 60m, the fourth fastest in program history, and posted a second-place long jump mark of 7.70m (25-3.25) at the Ken Shannon Invitational… at the Don Kirby Invitational, moved up to a tie for third in program history with a long jump mark of 7.70m (25-3.25).
2023: Did not compete... Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll selection.
2022 (Outdoor): Competed in eight meets… at the NCAA West Preliminary, posted a mark of 7.44m (24-5) in the long jump… set a new PR of 7.49m (24-7) in the outdoor long jump at the Pac-12 Championships and also helped the 4x100m relay squad to a time of 39.91… as the third leg of the 4x100m relay team, posted the seventh-best mark in program history (39.91) at the Big Meet, where he also set a personal record of 10.72 in the 100m dash… won the long jump contest at the Aztec Invitational with his leap of 7.31m (23-11.75)… USTFCCCA All-Academic… Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2022 (Indoor): Competed in five meets for Cal… finished second in the long jump at the Pac-12 Invitational with his leap of 7.58m (24-10.5), fifth-best in program history… took third in the long jump at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, posting a mark of 7.45m (24-5.5), and also ran the 60m dash in 6.98… set a new personal record in the 200m dash with a time of 22.37 at the WSU Invitational… won the long jump contest at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational with a best leap of 7.42m (42-4.25)... named to the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll.
2021 (Outdoor): Appeared in five meets… ran a personal-best 52.95 in the 400m hurdles at the Pac-12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, good for the 13
th-best time in the conference that season… ran the season’s 22
nd-best time in the Pac-12 in the 110m hurdles at the Big Meet with a wind-aided 15.26… also took second place in the 400m hurdles (53.44) and helped Cal to a win in the 4x400m relay (3:13.40) at that meet… at the West Coast Classic in Arizona, finished the 400m hurdles in 54.45… took second place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.93 at the Stanford Invitational… named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2021 (Indoor): Competed in two meets for the Bears… at the Air Force Invitational, set PRs in both the 200m dash (22.43) and the 60m dash (6.96).
2020: Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: Reached the 2019 Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Championships in three events, taking second in the long jump while also competing in the 110m and 300m hurdles… finished third in the 300m hurdles at the 2018 UIL 6A Region IV Championships and also raced in the 110m hurdles at that meet... the previous year, took fourth in the 110m hurdles at the UIL 6A Area 25/26 Championships.
PERSONAL: Majored in data science... also played wide receiver on the Golden Bears football team until 2023... son of Mark and April Mangum... father played football at Wisconsin... mother played volleyball at Baylor... brother Max played football at Harvard
