2023 (Indoor): Competed in three meets for Cal… took third place in the shot put at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational with his mark of 18.08m (59-4), 10^th-farthest in program history… posted a shot put mark of 17.35m (56-11.25) at the New Mexico Team Open... Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll selection.

2022 (Outdoor): Competed in seven meets for Cal… threw the shot put 17.65m (57-11) at the NCAA West Preliminary… posted a shot put mark of 17.95m (58-10.75) at the Pac-12 Championships… set a new personal best of 47.45m (155-8) in the discus throw at the Big Meet… at the Mt. SAC Relays, finished with a personal-best shot put mark of 18.23m (59-9.75)… took second in the shot put at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with his throw of 18.03m (59-2)… USTFCCCA All-Academic… CoSIDA Academic All-District… Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.

2022 (Indoor): Competed in three meets for Cal… set a new personal record in the shot put with a heave of 17.69m (58-0.5) at the Pac-12 Invitational… at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational, posted a PR of 14.09m (46-2.75) in the weight throw... named to the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll.

2021: Competed in six outdoor meets… at the Big Meet, set a new personal record in the javelin throw with a heave of 40.32m (132-3)… had a personal-best discus throw of 46.33m (152-0) at the Cal-USC Dual… threw the shot put 16.62m (54-6.50), a personal best, at the Trojan Invitational… took first place in the shot put at the Cal-Sac State Dual with his throw of 16.30m (53-5.75)… named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Holds the Canyon High School records in the shot put and the discus throw… two-time Canyon Thrower of the Year… placed second in the shot put and third in the weight throw at the 2020 California Winter State Track & Field Championships… 2019 Crestview League Shot Put and Discus Throw Champion… invited to that year’s Arcadia Invitational, where he placed third in the shot put… 2018 Canyon Track & Field MVP… placed second in both the discus throw and the shot put at the 2018 Crestview League Finals… recipient of the Greg Jones Award… also played football for the Comanches.

PERSONAL: Majoring in legal studies with the intent of entering an investment career… son of John and Stacey Porter.
