2022: Appeared in four outdoor meets for Cal… posted a collegiate PR of 16.18 in the 110m hurdles at the Big Meet, where he also finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.40… posted a collegiate PR of 56.05 in the 400m hurdles at the Aztec Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: Received awards for participating in four years of both varsity track & field and varsity soccer at Los Altos High School… also played junior varsity football for one year… took second in the 2021 Central Coast Section (CCS) Finals 300m hurdles race and was the section’s highest-scoring athlete overall… that year, Los Altos came in second at the CCS Finals… received Santa Clara Valley Athletic League (SCVAL) All-League First Team honors for varsity soccer in 2019 and 2020… was the Los Altos varsity soccer 2020 MVP… in 2019, named to the SCVAL All-League First Team for varsity track & field… Los Altos track & field won the SCVAL in both 2018 and 2019… Dessouki was named Freshman Athlete of the Year in 2018… received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his achievements.
PERSONAL: Aims to compete for Egypt in the 2024 Olympic Games… son of Amr and Rasha Dessouki… cousins Ahmed and Moustafa Ismail are Cal alumni… Ahmed played tennis at Cal… uncle Tarek El-Sakka was ranked number one for Egypt in tennis for several years, competing in the Davis Cup, Wimbledon Juniors, and Mediterranean Games.
