Nathan Adrian qualified for the 2012 London Olympics by placing first in the 100-meter free at the Olympic Trials (48.10) and will also compete on the 400 free relay for Team USA. Adrian, from Bremerton, Wash., won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics as a member of the 400 free relay (prelims) He concluded his collegiate career by propelling the Golden Bears to the 2011 NCAA team title, capturing five NCAA crowns - the 50-yard freestyle, 100 free, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay. Adrian was named 2011 Pac-10 Co-Swimmer of the Year, Pac-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was a 2011 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American.

Coming off a strong sophomore season - in which she won her second straight NCAA team title with the Bears - Au will compete in her second consecutive Olympics this summer. She claimed honorable mention All-America honors in the 100-yard backstroke in each of the past NCAA Championships and placed 19th in the 200-yard backstroke in March. In the 2008 Olympics, Au joined former Bears Hannah Wilson and Sherry Tsai on the Hong Kong team and swam in the 200-, 400- and 800-Meter freestyles. At 16, Au was the youngest member of the Hong Kong team in Beijing.

Henrique Barbosa will be competing in his second Olympic Games, swimming the 200 breaststroke in London with a top time of 2:09.82 after competing in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Barbosa captured the 100 and 200 breaststroke titles at the 2006 NCAA championships after being an NCAA finalist in each of his first three years with the Golden Bears. He also was a member of a national champion 200 medley relay (breaststroke leg) in 2005. Barbosa graduated from California High School in nearby San Ramon, Calif. before joining the Bears in the fall of 2002.

The incoming Cal freshman will swim for Teri McKeever earlier than planned after qualifying for the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. Bootsma, who hails from Eden Prairie, Minn., took second place in the 100-meter backstroke - edging Cal legend Natalie Coughlin in third place - at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., to secure her spot in London. In 2011, she also took second in the 100-meter back at the ConocoPhillips National Championships. At the age of 14 in 2008, Bootsma got her first taste of the Olympic Trials when she placed 35th in the 100 back, also in Omaha.

The top distance swimmer in Cal history, the alumna holds school records in the 1650- and 1000-yard freestyles and ranks second in the 500 freestyle as well as seventh in the 200 free. She earned a total of five All-America and three honorable mention All-America honors at Cal. A two-time Olympian, Boyle qualified in four events for London, after swimming in New Zealand's 800-meter free relay in the 2008 Olympics. In the 2011 World University Games, Boyle won gold medals in the 400 and 800 frees, silver in the 200 free and bronze in the 1500 free.

Cafaro has already enjoyed tremendous Olympic success, having been a part of the women's eight that won gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Cafaro, a 2006 Cal grad, had qualified for the '12 Games in the pairs, but turned down her seat in order to pursue a return to the women's eight boat. She will be one of six members returning from the 2008 boat as they vie for a second straight gold medal. Cafaro is a major part of Cal's rowing success having been a part of the varsity eight boats on the 2005 and 2006 national championship teams for the Bears.

An Olympian in 2004 and 2008, Milorad Cavic won the silver medal in the 100 butterfly at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, narrowly losing to Michael Phelps in one of the greatest races in Olympic history. Cavic, who will be competing in the 100 fly and the 400 free relay in London, is the European record holder in both the 50 (20.11) and 100 fly (50.59). As a Golden Bear, he won four NCAA titles as a member of the 200 and 400 medley and free relays. A graduate of Tustin (Calif.) High School, he was the 2002 National High School Swimmer of the Year and the high school record holder in the 50 free.

Cindy J. Chang, MD, who served as head team physician for Cal's 29 athletic teams from 1995 to 2008, will be the Chief Medical Officer for Team USA during the Olympics in London. She continues to work on campus as a sports medicine specialist for University Health Services and still serves as a consultant and team physician for student-athletes. Chang has worked at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and was part of the USA medical team for the Winter Paralympic Games in Nagano in 1998 and in Salt Lake City in 2002. She served as Chief Medical Officer for the USA delegation at the 2007 Parapan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 2008 Summer Paralympic Games in Beijing.

The most accomplished swimmer in Cal history and the owner of an astounding 11 Olympic medals, Coughlin will compete in her third straight Olympics in London. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Coughlin became the third American woman to win five medals at one Olympics. In Beijing in 2008, she added six more medals, including her second straight gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke. At Cal, Coughlin won 12 NCAA titles and was a three-time NCAA and Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year. She holds Cal records in the 100-yard backstroke, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly.

While Dean is making his Olympic debut in 2012, in previous national team competition, Dean won the 2008 Henley Grand Challenge Cup with the Canada under-23 eight at the Henley Royal Regatta. In 2008, he won silver in the eight at the U23 World Championships and finished fifth in 2009. While rowing with the Golden Bears, Dean was part of Cal's 2010 IRA National Champion men's eight along with fellow Olympians Olivier Siegelaar (Netherlands) and Zachary Vlahos (USA). Following graduation at Cal, the native of Kelowna, British Columbia, moved to Victoria, B.C., to begin rowing full-time at the Victoria Rowing Centre.

Damir Dugonjic will be competing in his second Olympics for Slovenia after placing 16th in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Dugonjic was a three-time NCAA champion for the Golden Bears and is the Cal and American record-holder in the 100 breast (50.86). He also swam the breaststroke legs of the Bears' national champion 200 and 400 medley relays in 2010 and 2011; and captured three individual (100 breast) and eight Pac-10 relay titles.

Anthony Ervin qualified for the 2012 Olympics by finishing second at the Olympic Trials in the 50-meter free with a time of 21.60. Ervin was the 2000 Olympic gold medalist in the 50 free (tied with Gary Hall, Jr.) and a three-time NCAA champion in the 100 free. He was the 2002 Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year and also won the NCAA 50-meter free title in 2000 and was a member of the national champion 400 medley relay (butterfly leg) in 2000 and the national champion 400 free relay (second leg) in 2002. Ervin had retired from swimming in 2003 before returning to competitive swimming in 2012.

Frandsen is an Olympic veteran for Canada, as the London Games will be his third Olympic appearance. In the 2004 Games in Athens, he was in the men's eight, which finished fifth. In the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won a silver medal in the coxless pair with Dave Calder. It was Canada's first medal of the Games. Frandsen and Calder will once again form a team in London. In addition, he has competed in various boats at five World Championships, resulting in four top-seven finishes. While rowing at Cal, Frandsen was part of three straight IRA-champion men's eight boats from 2000-2002. Following the 2008 Olympics, Frandsen took a three-year break from rowing to start a career and nurse a back injury.

Mathias Gydesen will be competing in his first Olympics in London for his native Denmark, swimming the 100 backstroke with best of 54.41. Gydesen was instrumental in the Golden Bears winning the 2011 and 2012 NCAA team titles, swimming the backstroke leg of Cal's national champion 400 medley relay and scoring points for the Bears in the 200 back, 100 fly and 100 back in March. He is also outstanding academically, earning first-team Pac-12 All-Academic honors in 2011 and 2012.

One of the top breaststrokers in the world, Hardy won the 50- and 100-meter freestyles at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials to qualify in freestyle-only events (including the 400-free relay) in London. The Long Beach, Calif., native won the 100-yard breaststroke in each of her two seasons at Cal. She captured the 50-meter breaststroke in the 2007 and 2011 World Championships, and in the 2005 World Championships, as a U.S. national team novice, she set a world record in the 100 breaststroke. In the 2008 short-course World Championships, Hardy set world records in winning the 50- and 100-meter breaststrokes.

A veteran of international play, Hassett has collected 39 caps at the senior level and 10 at the under-20 level for New Zealand's national teams; that includes playing in the 2011 World Cup and in two - 2008 and 2010 - Under-20 World Cups. The midfielder has scored four career goals for the senior national team and one for the U-20 team. A senior in 2012, she has played in 42 games - starting 29 - at Cal. A social welfare major, Hassett garnered NSCAA Scholar All-America status and Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2011 and earned a spot on the 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team.

Hovey will be making his second straight Olympic appearance. He competed in the men's double sculls (M2x) at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and placed 13th. For the 2012 Olympics, Hovey was one of four rowers who emerged from a pool of 16 quadruple sculls hopefuls at a 10-week training camp in Chula Vista, Calif. A native of Boston, Hovey originally wanted to attend college at Brown, but was approached by then Cal freshman coach, Geoff Bond, about rowing for the Bears. Hovey was a member of Cal's 2006 IRA national-champion men's eight.

A product of Bled, Slovenia, Isakovic won three NCAA team championships (2009, 2011 and 2012) with the Bears, capping her senior year with an NCAA title, the 400-yard medley relay crown and the 100-yard butterfly title, her first individual national championship. Still with two years of eligibility remaining at Cal, Kohler redshirted the 2012 season in order to pursue her dreams of making the U.S. Olympic team. She will be a part of the women's quadruple sculls. The 2010 Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year, Kohler captured gold with the women's four at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia. A two-time CRCA All-American, Kohler also won the Princess Grace Challenge Cup at the 2011 Henley Royal Regatta, and in 2010, she won the gold in the eight at the 2010 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Brest, Belarus.

Alan Kolling worked on campus at Cal for 27 years before retiring earlier this year, most recently as the Campus Public Records Coordinator and Whistleblower Coordinator. He previously worked in the Legal Affairs and Student Judicial Affairs offices on campus. Prior to returning to the University, from which he earned his undergraduate, graduate and law degrees, Kolling was engaged in private practice, specializing in criminal appellate work and immigration law. He served as an assistant manager with the U.S. Olympic track & field team for the Beijing Olympics and is filling a similar role as an event manager in London.

An Olympic rowing veteran, Korholz returns to the international scene for her fifth Olympic Games as either a competitor or an assistant coach. In her final race as a participant, she won silver as part of the women's eight at the 2004 Games in Greece. A 1993 Cal grad, Korholz made her Olympic debut at the 1996 Games in Atlanta and will be making her second straight appearance as a coach this summer. In addition to her three Olympic appearances as an athlete, Korholz is also an 11-time National team member.

The All-American has had a stellar last 12 months. Swimming for the United States in the 2011 Long-Course World Championships, Leverenz placed fifth in the 200-Meter IM (2:10.40) and eighth in the 400 IM (4:38.80). The All-American had a breakout junior season, earning the 2012 Honda Sports Award winner for Swimming, NCAA and Pac-12 Swimmer of the Meet awards, NCAA championships (team, 200-yard IM, 200 breaststroke and 200- and 400-medley relays) and Pac-12 titles (team, 200 breaststroke, 400 IM and 400-medley relay). After narrowly missing a 2008 Olympic berth, she qualified for her first Olympics with impressive swims at 2012 Trials.

Martin Liivamagi will be competing in his second Olympics for his native Estonia after swimming in the 200 individual medley at the 2008 Beijing Olympics prior to entering Cal. In London, Liivamagi will be competing in the 100 breast and the 200 IM. A four-year standout for the Golden Bears, he helped Cal to back-to-back NCAA team titles and was the Bears' school record-holder in the 200 and 400 IM. Liivamagi was the Pac-10 champion in the 200 IM in 2010 and was third in the 100 breast at the 2012 NCAA meet.

John Mann, who helped the Golden Bears to the 2006 NCAA title, will compete for USA Water Polo at the 2012 London Olympics. Mann, winner of the 2006-07 Peter J. Cutino Award as the nation's top collegiate player, is the 16th Cal men's water polo player selected to the Olympics. He was the first Bear to capture the Cutino Award named after the former Cal coaching legend. As a senior, Mann led the Bears to a 31-4 record and both the MPSF and NCAA titles. He was a three-time first-team All-American, first-team NCAA All-Tournament, MPSF Tournament MVP, All-MPSF first team and Cal's Pac-10 Medalist.

One of the top swimming mentors in the United States, Teri McKeever has exhibited coaching excellence by leading California to three NCAA team championships in four years (2009, 2011 and 2012), serving on three Olympic staffs - she was a U.S. assistant coach in 2004 and 2008 - and producing numerous Olympians. Indeed, nine of her past, present and future Bears are heading to London, including legendary alumna Natalie Coughlin and current star Caitlin Leverenz. In 2012, McKeever earned her third NCAA Championships Coach of the Meet, led Cal to the Pac-12 championship and claimed the Pac-12 Coach of the Year laurel.

Promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2011, Meehan completed his fourth season on the Cal men's swimming & diving coaching staff this past winter. In his four seasons on staff, the Bears have won two NCAA Championships, and were the national runner-up in 2010. He has helped coach Cal student-athletes to more than 20 NCAA titles in his young career in Berkeley so far. Meehan will serve as an assistant coach with the Estonia swimming team and work with Golden Bear Martin Liivamagi during the Olympic games.

Dominik Meichtry, who swam at Cal from 2005-08, will be competing in his third Olympics for Switzerland, and will be extremely busy in London, swimming the 100, 200 and 400 freestyle, and the 100 butterfly. Meichtry placed sixth in the 200 free, and also was a member of Switzerland's 400 free relay and competed in the 100 free, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He reached the semifinals of the 200 free at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece as well. At the 2008 NCAA championships, Meichtry swam the anchor leg on Cal's 400 free relay that placed third.

Graeme Moore will be competing in his first Olympic Games for his native South Africa after a stellar career at Cal from 2008-11. Moore, who will be swimming the 100 freestyle and will be a member of South Africa's 400 free relay in London, was a member of the Golden Bears' 2011 NCAA championship squad and was on Cal's national champion 200 medley, 400 medley and 400 free relays during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He has the distinction of being a member of all five of the Bears' school record-setting relays.

One of the best players in Cal history, Morgan - who led Cal to the postseason in each of her four seasons - ended her Golden Bear career ranked third in all-time points (107) and tied for third in all-time goals (45). She collected All-America and All-Pac-10 First-Team honors as a senior. Her collegiate success paved the way for her international acclaim for the United States. Morgan became a househould name last summer, when her heroics helped to propel the U.S. team to the 2011 World Cup final. Previously, she scored the gamewinning goal for the United States in the 2008 Under-20 World Cup.

Nichols and her teammate Kristin Hedstrom qualified for London after posting a time of 7:07.45 at the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland, good enough for a fourth-place finish, exactly what the pair needed to qualify. It will be Nichols' first-ever Olympic appearance. While rowing for the Bears, she stroked the 1999 Cal varsity eight that took third at NCAAs. Nichols is no stranger to international competition, having won silver in the Lt 2X at the 2005 World Championships and a bronze medal in the Lt 4X at the 2004 World Championships.

After being her coach for two years when he first arrived in Berkeley, Dave O'Neill will once again lead the way for Julie Nichols, as he will be her coach in the lightweight women's double sculls in London. Nichols named O'Neill to be her coach after he helped her and Kirsten Hedstrom qualify for the Games. O'Neill has been a member of the U.S. coaching staff at the last three World Championships, including assisting last year in the LW2x. O'Neill coached the women's four to a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships in Poland.

Heather Petri is one of the greatest Cal Olympians of all time, competing in her fourth Olympics this summer in London. The Orinda native was one of the youngest players on Team USA when the Americans won a silver medal in the inaugural Olympics for women's water polo in Sydney, Australia in 2000. Four years later in Athens Petri helped Team USA to a bronze medal, and at the 2008 Beijing Olympics the Americans captured another silver medal. She lettered at Cal from 1997-99 and returned to finish her degree in 2001. She helped the Bears to two national runner-up finishes and a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament title in 1999.

Aleksa Saponjic, who will be a sophomore on the Golden Bears' men's water polo team this fall, will compete for his native Serbia at the London Olympics. After a freshman campaign in which he earned honorable mention All-America honors, Saponjic helped Serbia win the gold medal at the 2012 European Championship in January to qualify for the Olympics. Saponjic, 20, is from Belgrade and is the youngest member of the Serbian National Team. At Cal in 2011, Saponjic was third on the team in scoring with 30 goals in 22 matches and tallied 22 assists and 18 steals.

Siegelaar was named to the Dutch men's eight boat by head coach Rene Mijnders back in March. Sigelaar is no stranger to Olympic competition. He competed for The Netherlands in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, rowing in the three seat in the eight, helping the Dutch finish fourth. While rowing for the Golden Bears, Siegelaar rowed on the varsity eight. He was a member of Cal's 2010 IRA National Champion boat. He was named to the Pac-10 all-conference team in 2011. Siegelaar also had a lot of academic success at Cal, majoring in mechanical engineering. Siegelaar will return to Cal next year to graduate.

Marcin Tarczynski, who in March won the NCAA title in the 200 IM with a Cal school record time of 1:41.97, will be swimming the 100 backstroke for his native Poland at the 2012 London Olympics. At the 2011 Polish Nationals, Tarczynski qualified for the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai, China with a first place finish in 100 back (54.82) and 200 individual medley (2:01.31). At the World Championships, he swam the backstroke leg for Poland's 400 medley relay that placed eighth.

A long-time fixture in U.S. rowing, both as a coach and a competitor, Mike Teti started at Cal after coaching the U.S. men's eight to a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Last summer, Teti enjoyed more success at the international level. He coached the U.S. men's eight that claimed first in a record-setting time (5:24.31) at the 2011 U23 World Championships in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In December of 2008, Teti received the USRowing Medal, the highest honor that the rowing governing body can bestow.

Vlahos and the men's eight advanced after winning at the Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland. In the final, the U.S. clocked a time of 5:36.11 to beat New Zealand (5:40.02) and France (5:46.35). Vlahos coxed at Cal under Teti and later was a volunteer assistant coach on his staff last season. A native of Piedmont, Calif., Vlahos graduated in 2010 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. As a senior in 2010, Vlahos coxed Cal's varsity eight to a national championship at the IRA Regatta. Born in New York, Vlahos wanted to go to Cal since he was a young child.

A three-time swimming Olympian (1980, 1984 and 1988) for the Netherlands, Conny van Bentum is the team doctor for the Dutch women's field hockey team in London. As a Golden Bear, she became the second women's swimmer (after teammate Mary T. Meagher) to win an NCAA title when she captured the 50-yard freestyle in 1985. Van Bentum also won the 200-free NCAA title in 1986. She previously held school records in the 50 free (23.15), 100 free (49.63), 200 free (1:46.35) and 100 butterfly (54.01).

An Olympic gold medalist in 2004, Vollmer made USA's 2012 squad by winning the 100-meter butterfly and qualifying in the 800-freestyle relay. Vollmer won the 100 fly in the 2011 World Championships. After not reaching the 2008 Olympics, the Granbury, Texas, product responded with her best college season (2008-09), leading Cal to its first NCAA championship as a senior. Also in 2009, Vollmer won the 100- and 200-yard freestyles, 400- and 800-free relays, NCAA Swimmer of the Year award and Honda Sports Award for Swimming. In the 2004 Olympics, Vollmer joined Natalie Coughlin on a world-record swim as the USA won the 800-free relay.

A two-time NCAA team champion with the Golden Bears (2009 and 2011), Wilson will compete in her third Olympics in London, after also taking part in the 2004 and 2008 Summer Games. She swam the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly in Beijing, where she set a Hong Kong record of 59.35 in the 100-fly heats. Her 2008 Hong Kong team included Cal alumna Sherry Tsai and current Golden Bear Stephanie Au. Wilson swam on three national-champion relays - 200-yard free relay in 2011 and 400- and 800-free relays in 2009 - and earned 20 All-America honors for the Bears.

Windes concluded her Golden Bear career with 147 goals (seventh on Cal's all-time scoring list) and the Portland, Ore., native was Cal's first true freshman to ever be selected as an honorable mention All-American. A campus favorite in Berkeley and the tallest player in school history standing at 7-3, Zhang played two seasons at Cal (2009-10 and 2010-11) before pursuing opportunities with the Chinese National Team. He blocked 37 shots and averaged 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds during his final season with the Golden Bears. Zhang was born in Yantai City, China and started is basketball career at the age of 15. He competed for the Chinese junior national team at the 2009 World University games - averaged 18.0 points, 17.3 rebounds and 5.6 blocks per game in six games - before he made his debut with the full national team at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Zhang also plays for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association.
