Nine Different Winners
College Success
• Redshirted as a Cal swimmer in 2011-12
• Was a member of the UCLA men's water polo team in 2010, competing in three matches with a steal and an assist
National Success
• In water polo competed for the USA National Youth Training team in 2007 and the USA National Development Team in 2005
• Won the 1650 free in 15:38.77 at the 2009 USA Swimming Sectional in Las Vegas
High School Success
• Competed in both water polo and swimming at Granite Bay High School, earning All-America and All-City honors in swimming in 2007 and 2008
• Set the league record in the 500 free and established school records in the 200 and 500 free
• Won the 2008 CIF Sac-Joaquin title in the 500 free (4:31.90)
• In water polo was first-team All-CIF Sac-Joaquin Section and first-team All-Sierra league in 2007 and 2008, finishing his career with 224 goals and 144 assists

• Parents are Stephen and Laura Tyrrell
• Father, Stephen, was an All-American swimmer at USC in the 70's, and sister Katie also swam for the Trojans
• Brother, Jeff, was a standout water polo player at Cal, helping the Bears to NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007
• Majoring in American studies
