We hope this email finds you well during this pandemic.
First off, we want to thank you for your incredible support and loyalty to our Cal Football program throughout the years. Coming off a season in which we brought the Axe back to Berkeley and earned a victory in the Redbox Bowl, we saw a 91 percent renewal rate for season tickets – our highest rate in at least 10 years – so the excitement around the Bears is clearly evident. Again, thank you!
As we navigate through an unprecedented time in our history, we want to provide you with an update on tickets for the 2020 Cal Football season and offer clarity for this fall. While we don’t have all the answers at this point, some decisions affecting the season have already occurred, such as the Pac-12 recently announcing a conference-only schedule for fall sports. The health and well-being of our student-athletes, staff and greater community remains our priority.
Given current state and local public health guidelines and uncertainty for how the season will unfold, we have made the difficult choice to cancel 2020 football season tickets.Â
All season-ticket members who purchased Cal Football Season Tickets have the following options to consider and help make a lasting impact on our student-athletes experience:
- Your entire 2020 season ticket and per-seat donation payment will automatically be credited to the 2021 season. No action is required for this option
- Convert your 2020 season ticket payment into a tax-deductible donation to the Cal Athletics Fund* by contacting goldstandard@berkeley.edu
As a thank you for selecting one of the above options Cal Athletics will provide the following for every season-ticket account:
- Three (3) extra priority points per seat. For priority points information, visit calathleticsfund.com/prioritypoints
- 10% discount on 2021 Cal Football home game single-game ticket purchases.
- An exclusive virtual event with the Cal Football coaching staff that will be announced at a later time.
If you would like to request a refund, please email goldstandard@berkeley.edu before Friday, September 4, 2020.
In the event that a limited number of spectators are allowed at Memorial Stadium this fall, Cal Athletics will offer single-game tickets. Cal Football season-ticket members will have priority access to an exclusive pre-sale before the general public. If you choose to apply your balance to the 2021 season the credit will be available to you to purchase single-game tickets should those become available this season.
We will continue to provide updates as we receive more information from the Pac-12, campus and City of Berkeley health officials.
