CAL SUCCESS

AS A SENIOR (2017-2018)

• A four-year standout for the Cal water polo team, Neumann joins the Cal baseball team for the first time in 2018 and will look to contribute as a left-handed pitcher.
• Closed out his Cal water polo career with another standout season in 2017. Tied for eighth on the team in scoring with 17 goals. Also contributed 11 assists, nine steals, six ejections earned and four field blocks in his senior campaign.
• Awarded the Golden Bear Strength Award by the coaching staff at the conclusion of the 2017 season.
• Joined the Cal baseball team for the 2018 season and made two appearances on the mound for the Bears. Did not allow a run in one-inning stints against Cal St. Bakersfield and Xavier.

AS A JUNIOR (2016-2017)

• Played a key role throughout the 2016 season but the junior was particularly important in the postseason as he earned All-NCAA Tournament, Second Team, All-America and All-MPSF honorable mention for helping the Bears win their 14th national title.
• The left-hander produced one of the most memorable goals of Cal's run to the title as his cross-cage strike represented the game-winning goal in Cal's 9-8 overtime victory over UCLA in the NCAA semifinals. Neumann finished with two goals in the contest, tying for team-high honors.
• Finished the season tied for eighth on the team in scoring with 18 goals.
• Made an impact in all three matches Cal played against USC in 2016, scoring on all three occasions and helping the Bears deal the Trojans their only two losses of the year.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2015-2016)

• Bounced back from an early season injury to play in 25 games as a sophomore in 2015. Still finished in the team's top 10 in scoring with 17 goals. Also had 21 assists, 15 steals, seven ejections earned and two field blocks in 2015.
• Scored a season-high three goals and tied for team-high honors in 14-11 win over Stanford at the SoCal Invitational on Oct. 11.
• Scored a goal at the NCAA Tournament, finding the net in Cal's third-place match win over UC San Diego.

AS A FRESHMAN (2014-2015)

• Played in all 29 matches as a true freshman in 2014 and scored 31 goals to finish fourth on the team.
• Finished third on the team with 28 assists and added 17 steals, 13 ejections earned and 10 field blocks in his first season as a Bear.

• As a high school senior, was a closing pitcher with 15 appearances, 3 wins, 5 saves, 55 strikeouts and an 0.84 ERA in 33.1 innings, 2014
• Was Pitcher of the Year; All-East Bay, Bay Area News Group; and Most Valuable Pitcher, East Bay Athletic League, 2014
• Was All-State Team; 2nd team, Max Preps California Large Schools and All-State Team; 3rd team, CalHiSports, 2014
• Went to NCS Championships; Division 1, San Ramon Valley High School, 2014
• Included in Bay Area 75; SportStars Magazine 2014
• Played in NorCal World Series; 2012, 2013
