Hinder saw action in each of the final two seasons during his five campaigns with the program, playing in three games off the bench and completing 2-of-7 passes for 29 yards while adding seven rushes for 19 yards. Hinder was in a three-way competition for the team’s starting quarterback job along with Jared Goff and Zach Kline during the spring of 2013 and into training camp in a battle that was eventually won by Goff. He is on track to graduate from Cal in the summer of 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in American studies.
