Walker is one of the team's most experienced and versatile players with 35 career games and 29 starts at three different positions in the defensive backfield, and he is listed as the starter at the nickelback position on the 2016 preseason depth chart. Walker ranks second and tied for second on the team in career games and starts, respectively, while leading all defensive players in both categories. Walker was recruited to Cal as a cornerback but moved to strong safety and started eight games there as a 2013 redshirt freshman. He returned to cornerback for the majority of his 2014 sophomore campaign and started 10 games at the position before starting 11 at nickelback as a 2015 junior. Walker, who is expected to return to nickelback as a 2016 senior, is Cal’s active career leader in tackles (158) and interception return yards (53) while sharing the lead in blocked kicks (1), ranking second in pass breakups (9), and tied for second in interceptions (2) and forced fumbles (1).

• Equaled a career-best with 13 tackles vs. Colorado while adding one pass breakup
