Bret Huth is in his third season at Cal and his first as an associate strength and conditioning coach for the football team after spending the last two years as an assistant director. Some of his responsibilities include providing objective reporting to the football coaching staff and implementing energy system specific conditioning programs.
Prior to coming to Cal, Huth served as the associate director of athletic performance at Memphis, working with the football and baseball programs. There he collaborated with the athletic training staff on the rehabilitation of injured student-athletes, provided nutritional guidance for student-athletes, provided consistent evaluation of movement concepts found behind core exercises and implemented corrective exercises based on the needs of individual student athletes.
From 2012-13, Huth served as the strength and conditioning coordinator for Overhead Sports, while working with the football, baseball, volleyball, women’s tennis and softball programs at Lousiana-Monroe.Â
Prior to interning at Kent State in 2009, Huth was the head strength and conditioning coach for the football program at Euclid High School in Euclid, Ohio.
Huth earned his bachelor’s degrees in exercise science and physical education from John Carroll University in 2010 and his master’s degree in exercise science from Louisiana-Monroe in 2011.
