Kirsten Graves

Kirsten Graves is the registered dietitian (RD) in the sports medicine clinic working with the Cal football program in 2017 where she works with student-athletes to develop appropriate and sustainable nutrition practices to meet their energy demands. She has been providing nutrition and health education since 2007 within a variety of medical nutrition therapy and research settings. Graves has worked with a variety of athletes of all ages and abilities to prepare for training and competition. She uses a science based approach to support individuals with medical or nutrition concerns to fuel their body to meet their best potential. As a former NCAA collegiate student-athlete herself, she understands the time and dedication that it takes to balance training, studies and health.

She earned a bachelor's in science in health science from UC Santa Cruz in 2005, a postbaccalaureate degree in nutrition science from Long Beach State in 2009. She completed a dietetic internship from San Francisco State in 2010, and a master's in science health science and nutrition from the University of Nebraska in 2016.

Grave is a member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA) as well as the Sports Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) Dietetics Practice Group, and writes for one of their quarterly newsletters.

Graves is a Bay Area native and lives with her husband and their Australian Shepherd pup.
