Ron Coccimiglio is in his 11th season as the Director of Career Development with the California football program in 2021. In his role, Coccimiglio promotes the development of student-athletes in order to successfully transition them into the professional work place. He oversees life skills training along with the summer internship and career job placement programs.
- Prior to his current role, Coccimiglio was the assistant director of operations for the Golden Bears for three seasons (2007-09)
- Coccimiglio first returned to his alma mater's football program to serve as a defensive assistant for three seasons (2003-05) with the Bears going a combined 28-12 including a 2014 campaign in which Cal won a school-record-tying 10 games (10-2) and ranked as high as No. 4 nationally for a total of five weeks before finishing No. 9
- Before returning to his alma mater's football program at Cal in 2003, Coccimiglio worked as a vice president for two print firms and a partner in a print brokerage firm during a professional career in the print industry that spanned over 20 years
- Graduated from Cal with a bachelor’s in sociology in 1981 after playing football for the Bears from 1976-80 and earning letters in each of his final three campaigns
- Still ranks tied for sixth on Cal's all-time list with 11 career interceptions and led the Bears in interceptions in each of his final two seasons, intercepting three passed in 1979 and four in 1980 when he served as a co-captain
- Has been married to his wife, Judi, also a Cal alum, since 1982
- The couple has a son, Nicholas (wife Shannon), three daughters – Janelle, Jennifer and Jillian (husband Matt Stephenson) and four grandchildren – Claire, Luke, Jane and Caila
- Owns several Yogurt Shacks in the Bay Area
- Affectionately known throughout the Cal football program as “Coach Coach”
