Austin has played in 15 games off the bench with all of the stats other than three games played as a 2015 sophomore coming during his 2014 redshirt freshman season following a redshirt campaign in 2013. He had a promising 2015 spring at wide receiver that he capped with a strong spring game in which he recorded a game-high-tying four receptions for a game-high 76 yards receiving including one scoring grab on an eight-yard touchdown pass from Chase Forrest. He also had a memorable one-handed diving grab in the spring game that prompted@Pac12Networks to ask if it was the “Catch of the Year already??” in a tweet. Austin is also one of the team’s top special teams players and contributed five tackles in that role in his first action at Cal during his 2014 redshirt freshman campaign. In addition, he is the team’s backup holder. He is also Cal's nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, a prestigious off-the-field honor that recognizes dedication to community service by paying tribute to a select group of student-athletes who have worked positively to impact the lives of others and has included former Golden Bears Nick Forbes (2013) and Jeffrey Coprich (2014) in recent years.

• Posted combined career totals of 135 receptions, 2,069 yards receiving and 17 touchdown catches during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons from 2010-12, while adding five rushes for 52 yards, five punt returns for 75 yards, six kick returns for 121 yards and 11 100-yard receiving games
• Played on teams that qualified for the Southern Section playoffs during each of his three prep campaigns, including a semifinal appearance as a 2010 sophomore
• Selected to play in the Cal State Game after his senior season in which he earned All-Southern Section Inland Division, Sierra League Offensive Most Valuable Player and All-Inland Valley honors after registering career highs of 71 receptions for a league-leading 1,228 yards and six touchdowns as the top-rated receiver in the Sierra League according to MaxPreps for a team that won the Sierra League title

• Currently the President of the Golden Bear Advisory Committee, which is a student-athlete organization that is Cal’s version of SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) after serving in previous roles as the VP of Activities and VP of Philanthrophy
• Played a key role in the planning of the Oski’s awards show run almost exclusively by Cal student-athletes that is modeled after the ESPYS 
• Represented Cal at the 2014 APPLE Conference, an event for student-athletes that promotes student-athlete wellness and substance abuse prevention and then originated the “stay golden” wellness campaign at Cal, which features a monthly wellness tip and connects student-athletes to on-campus resources and related events such as hydration tips, hazing prevention and sleep support
