Anderson played in 17 games all off the bench and contributed 34 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss (-1 yard) and one pass breakup over the last two seasons of his three campaigns with the program after redshirting in his first season at Cal as a junior in 2015. Anderson recorded the majority of his career numbers and all of his career highs as a 2016 junior when he played in 10 games all off the bench and contributed 29 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss (-1 yard) and one pass breakup. Anderson transferred to Cal from Golden West College, where he earned first-team All-State and All-Southern Conference National Division Southern California Football Association honors as a 2014 sophomore after compiling 60 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries one of which he returned for a 47-yard touchdown for the opening score at Orange Coast, and six pass breakups for a team that was 7-4 overall and played in the Beach Bowl. He also played in nine games during his 2013 freshman season for a team that finished with a 9-2 record and made a trip to the Southern California Bowl in one of the most successful seasons in school history.
