Anderson played in 38 career games during the last four seasons his five campaigns at Cal after redshirting as a true freshman and is the school's all-time leader in both scoring with 316 career points and field goals, making 60-of-74 (81.2%) along with 136-of-139 (97.8%) extra-point tries. Anderson moved past former record holder Doug Brien (1991-93) in both categories late in his senior season, eclipsing Brien's 288 career points in his third to last game against Oregon State and Brien's 56 field goals in his final contest at UCLA. Anderson earned the Pac-12's Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a 2017 senior and was also a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy also commonly known as the academic Heisman, as well as a CoSIDA Academic All-District® selection for a second straight season. Anderson established Cal's modern-era single-season record for points as a 2016 junior with 117 to rank second all-time while equaling the school's all-time single-season mark for field goals made (22-26) and leading the team in both categories as well as PATs (51-51). Anderson then connected on 20-of-27 (74.1%) field goal attempts to rank tied for the fourth-highest field goal total in school history and 35-of-36 (97.2%) of his extra-pont tries as a senior. Anderson also made the first five field goal attempts of his junior season to extend his school-record streak of consecutive field goals made to 17 that began when he made the final 12 attempts of his 2015 sophomore campaign. Anderson was a first-team Pac-12 All-Academic choice as a sophomore before earning second-team honors as well as CoSIDA Academic All-District® recognition in his junior campaign. He also earned the Golden Bear Achievement Award from Cal's Athletic Study Center at the Student-Athlete Academic Honors Luncheon for being the Cal football player with the highest cumulative GPA in each academic year beginning in the fall of 2013 running through the spring of 2016.
