Isaiah Gonzales

    Athletic Performance Coach
Isaiah Gonzales is in his third season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Cal in 2019. Gonzales is the Director of Football Sport Sciences, which includes monitoring and interpretation of Catapult GPS and Sparta Sciences. He also works with the men's rowing, women's rowing and men's gymnastics programs at Cal. 

Prior to arriving in Berkeley, Gonzales spent four years at Seattle University from 2013-17 as a coordinator of strength and conditioning. He worked directly with all 18 Olympic sports.

During the summer of 2014, Gonzales was a football strength and conditioning intern at the University of Washington. Gonzales also served as a football strength and conditioning intern at the University of New Mexico in 2013 and at the University of Louisville in 2009.

USAW-L1SP – United States of America Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Level 1
Bio-Force HRV Certified Conditioning Coach (Joel Jamison)
NSCA-CPT – National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer
American Heart Association, First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Gonzales earned a Master’s in sports administration and leadership at Seattle University in May 2015 and a Bachelor’s in strength & conditioning at the University of New Mexico in May 2013.   

A native of Santa Fe, N.M. Gonzales is happily married to Jelena Vujcin-Gonzales. Â
