Noah Casaquit, an NAIA All-American libero, enters his first year as Cal’s volunteer assistant coach.
 
He joins the Golden Bears staff after a four-year stint as an assistant coach for Long Beach City College men’s and women’s volleyball programs, where he began in 2014. In his time at LBCC, Casaquit coached the Viking men to a perfect 13-0 season in 2018. He also helped the program seal the California Community College Athletic Association Western Conference Championship in 2016 and 2017, and won the league’s state title in 2017 as well. He assisted with the women’s team until 2016, which included organizing statistical data and presentations to maximize player performance.
 
Casaquit also served as an adjunct professor in the Physical Education/Kinesiology Department at LBCC.
 
Before his time in Long Beach, the Honolulu, Hawai’i, native, served as the head coach for two seasons at his collegiate alma mater Hope International University. In 2015, he led the Royals to an NAIA National Division Championship after twice defeating the conference leader Concordia-Irvine to advance to the NAIA National Invitational Championship Tournament. In 2016, Casaquit’s Royals were the runners-up.
 
Prior to his head coaching stint at Hope International, Casaquit assisted Cerritos College women’s volleyball program from 2016-2017, where he focused on developing high-level skillsets for the student-athletes.
 
Casaquit began his collegiate coaching career at Cypress College in 2011 as the women’s volleyball assistant coach. In his two years at Cypress, the program was lauded for their recruitment efforts.
 
As a player, Casaquit began his collegiate career as the starting libero for Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, before transferring to Hope International in Fullerton, Calif. While at HIU, he was named captain and led the team to HIU’s first appearance in the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 2009 where the Vikings finished third – the highest ranking in school history.
 
Casaquit was also named to the 2009 NAIA All-Tournament Team, while picking up NAIA All-America honors in 2009 and 2010. He was also recognized as NAIA Defensive Player of the Year in both those seasons. He is the HIU program’s all-time career leader with 690 digs and is the single-season record holder with 289 digs.
He currently works as a consultant and trainer for Peak Volleyball Academy and was the head coach for Team Rockstar club team in 2015, and 2017-2018.
 
Casaquit earned a master’s degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific University in 2014, and finished his undergrad with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in business management from HIU.
