Kamalani Dung is in her first season as a volunteer student assistant for the Cal softball team in 2020. Dung pitched for the Golden Bears for her junior and senior seasons in 2018 and '19 after transferring to Cal from Fresno State following her sophomore season.
Dung picked up NFCA All-Pacific-Region honors after posting an ERA of 2.32 last season, which ranked eighth in the Pac-12. She was the only pitcher to shutout top-10-ranked Arizona in 2019. The Waianae, Hawaii, native also earned All-Pac-12 honors.
One of her first appearances as a Bear in 2018 was a memorable one as she garnered Cal's first perfect game since 2010 against UTEP, striking out 12 batters in the process, in front of her friends and family in Hawaii.
Following her collegiate career, Dung pitched for Puerto Rico in the 2019 Pan-Am Games. She helped Team Puerto Rico finish third in the tournament.
