Alicia Florin returns for her second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the California women's lacrosse team in 2019.
Prior to coming to Berkeley, Florin served as head coach at Saint Mary's College in 2017 after spending the 2016 season as the assistant for the Gaels.
Florin led the Gaels to a total of 120 goals scored, the most in a single season since 2013. She also had 12 players named All-Academic in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, the second most out of any team in the conference.
Before her time at SMC, Florin spent a season at Mercer as an assistant coach. Some of her responsibilities included offensive coordinator, practice planning, recruiting, film preparation, and team travel.
Florin boasts international experience, as well, having spent two years in England working for the English Lacrosse Association as a local development officer for the Reading Wildcats. She coached eight teams at the youth, high school, university, and adult levels. She led the Wildcats to their first ever Southeast Division I Championship.
Florin coached at the youth and high school levels during college as well as at numerous camps, helping to instruct players of all ages and abilities. Florin also spent a season at her alma mater, Kenyon College, as a volunteer assistant coach, helping them to a conference championship in 2013.
During her playing career at Kenyon, Florin finished her career ranked in the top 10 in assists, draw controls and draw controls per game. Additionally, she was an all- conference selection in 2008 and 2012 for the North Coast Athletic Conference, as well as being named a Jewish All- American in 2010.
Florin graduated from Kenyon in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
