Kacie Lewis begins her third season as an assistant coach for Cal in 2017.
Prior to coming to Berkeley, Lewis spent one season as an assistant at Holy Cross, working with both the offensive and defensive units, as well as the goalkeepers. In addition to coaching at Holy Cross, Lewis also coached the Central Massachusetts club team last season.
Lewis was a four-year letterwinner at UConn, serving as team captain in 2012 and 2013. Over Lewis’ four years on the team, the Huskies’ record improved every year, culminating in a 13-5 record and a NCAA Tournament appearance during her senior season. It was the program’s first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013.
A native of San Diego, Calif., Lewis began her coaching career in 2010 as the coach of the San Diego Lax Dawgs club lacrosse team. She went on to serve as a counselor for lacrosse camps at USC, Duke, Stanford, Brown, Princeton, Georgetown and UConn at different periods from 2011 through 2013. She was co-director of the Starhill Clinic in Tolland, Conn. from 2011- 2013. In 2013, Lewis’ final season at UConn, she served as the intern to head coach Katie Woods.
