The Wolf Pack, from the Big West Conference, fell to 17-11 on the year.
Cal's 13 overall wins under first-year head coach Rich Feller are the most since 1995 when it also went 13-15. The Bears seven conference victories are the most since 1991 when they went 15-15 overall and 9-9 in the Pac-10. Coulter finished her career as the school's all-time service ace leader with 162 aces. She also ranks in the Cal all-time Top 10 list in kill attempts (fifth, 3066), digs (tied for sixth, 1121) and kills (seventh, 966). Alva is ranked fifth on the Bears all-time total block list with 351.
"I wish we could continue to play," said Feller. "We are playing great ball and our spirits are up. We know we are capable of doing good things if we had the opportunity. I'm sorry this season had to end. But, I feel so good about our seniors and the fact they were able to end their careers at Cal with a feeling of pride."
Cal was led by junior outside hitter Alicia Perry, who was the Pac-10 Player of the Week after back-to-back triple-doubles this past weekend against Washington State and Washington, with 15 kills and a .520 hitting percentage.
