The California men's golf team is tied for 13th place after two rounds (303-293-596, +36) of the 57th annual Western Intercollegiate hosted by San Jose State. Freshman Michael Wilson paced the Golden Bears for the first 36 holes, firing rounds of 76-68-144 to stand in 16th place heading into the final day of the 18-team tournament.

Steve Conway of UCLA carded scores of 72 and 67 to pace the Bruins to a 13-stroke lead on the par 70, 6,445-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course. Conway shares the individual lead with Texas El Paso's Dan Swanson at one-under par 139.

Cal's junior Peter Tomasulo is in ninth (73-74-147, +7), freshman Eric West is in 67th (79-75-154, +14), sophomore Jeff Hood is in 69th (79-76-155, +15) and sophomore Chris Ancheta is in 81st (75-84-159, +19).

UC Irvine is second in the team standings at 576. Texas El Paso is third in the 18-team field at 577. Pacific and Oregon are tied for fourth in the 18-team field at 578.
