No. 14 Cal Volleyball Defeats Oregon, 3-0

Again led by freshman Angie Pressey, the No. 14-ranked California volleyball team (14-9, 9-5) defeated Oregon (9-16, 1-14), 3-0 (30-23, 30-24, 30-13), Friday night at McArthur Court. Pressey finished with a team-high 14 kills and added 11 digs. She had also led the Golden Bears Thursday night at Oregon State with a team-leading 21 digs. Cal has now won 12-straight matches over the Ducks.
The Bears had a season-high .395 team hitting percentage, out-hitting Oregon, .395 to .230. Besides, Pressey's 14 kills, senior middle hitter Camille Leffall had an outstanding night, recording 11 kills with no errors in 16 attempts for a season-high .688 hitting percentage. Sophomore setter Samantha Carter added 48 kills and junior libero Alexis Kollias had a team-high 18 digs.
The Ducks were led by Kelly Russell's 17 kills. The last time Cal fell to Oregon was 3-1, Nov. 15, 1998 in Berkeley.
The Bears will next host Washington State, Thursday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at Haas Pavilion. Cal then faces No. 1-ranked Washington, Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Haas Pavilion. Earlier this season, the Bears defeated the Cougars, 3-0, Oct. 23 in Pullman, and fell to the top-ranked Huskies, 3-0, Oct. 22 in Seattle.
