STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 5 California men's gymnastics finished in third place at Saturday evening's Stanford Open. Ahead of the Golden Bears' 351.700 was No. 1 Oklahoma, which took first of the collegiate teams scoring a 356.500, while Stanford was second with a 352.000. Also competing was the Japanese collegiate all-star team, which scored a 362.200.

Donothan Bailey handling took first place, notching an 89.000. On floor, Cal's highest finisher was Daniel Culpepper, who notched a 15.400. Also scoring above 15.000 were Eric Haeussler (15.200) and Joshua Van Bourg (15.100).

The Bears put up five people on pommel horse, scoring a collective 58.300. Cal's contingent was led by Donothan Bailey with an incredible 15.600. Daniel Geri was next in line with a 14.600, followed by Kyle Bunthuwong at 14.000.

It was a five-Bear line-up on rings, this time with Steven Lacombe finishing first amongst his teammates with a 15.400. Bailey took second of the Bears (14.11), followed by Jeffrey Langenstein (13.400).

Cal outscored Oklahoma by one tenth, 63.500-63.500 thanks to outstanding performances by Jean Monteclaro and Lacombe, both of whom scored 16.100. Bailey was net in line at 15.700 and Christian Monteclaro closed the contributors with his 15.600.

Bailey and Geri tied for first on the Cal squad on parallel bars with both of them scoring 15.100. Jim Kerry (14.200) and Bunthuwong (14.100) rounded top-four scorers for the Bears.

Bunthuwong took first place on the Cal team with a 14.500 on high bar. Bailey was close behind with his 14.300.
