BERKELEY - Though they may still be on Hawaiian time, the No. 2 Golden Bears did not miss a beat as they cruised to an 8-0 win over Princeton on Tuesday afternoon at Levine-Fricke Field. California scored its first and last runs off homers to improve to 26-1 overall while the Tigers drop to 3-10.

In each of the three innings in which the Bears scored - first, second and fifth - there was a homer. With her Bears leading 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Cheyenne Cordes hit a two-run bomb to end the game as soon as she crossed home plate.

"We did a really good job of coming out aggressive today and we took control early!" Arioto said.

In addition to scoring two runs, Arioto pitched the five-inning victory. Arioto allowed just three hits and struck out seven

"Lindsey [Ziegenhirt] called a great game for me and kept their batters off balance!" Arioto said.

Valerie Arioto started things off with a two-run shot to right, marking her 11th homerun of the year.

In the bottom of the second, Danielle Henderson notched a solo shot down the left-field line for her eighth of the season. Jamia Reid reached on a single to short, stole second and scored on a Vonk single up the middle.

The fifth inning - which proved to be the final inning of play - saw Jace Williams single to right, plating Ashley Decker, who had been hit by a pitch. A sacrifice fly by Breana Kostreba brought Valerie Arioto home. With her Bears leading 6-0, Cheyenne Cordes hit her homer to left center to end the game.
