The California Golden Bears are your 2012 Pac-12 Conference Champions in Softball!
The top-ranked Bears clinched the league title with a 5-0 victory over second-ranked Arizona State today at Levine-Fricke Field. It is the second outright conference title won for Cal and the first since 1987. The Bears tied for first in the conference in 2005.
California also secured its 50th victory of the season and improved to 21-2 in the Pac-12 heading into tomorrow's regular-season finale.
Senior Elia Reid and freshman Danielle Henderson each drove in a pair of runs, while National Player of the Year candidate Valerie Arioto pitched the complete-game shutout with 11 strikeouts on the day.
