SEATTLE – No. 17 California was unable to close its two-game road stint in favorable fashion, falling to No. 21 Washington 3-0 on Sunday at Husky Soccer Stadium to split the series with its northern conference foe.
Â
After a scoreless first half, the Huskies (10-5-1, 3-3-1 Pac-12) knocked in goals during the 75th, 79th and 83rd minute to keep things out of reach for the Bears (9-5-1, 4-3-0).
Â
Despite taking down Washington 2-1 in Berkeley a week ago, Cal could not fight off aggressive attacks from the Huskies' offense who outshot the Bears 18-15. Â The Bears showed signs of life early in the second period recording 10 shots but could not collect on their efforts.
Â
Cal heads into a bi-week but returns to Berkeley for a pair of contests against San Diego State on Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m. (PT) and UCLA on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. before closing the regular season with a visit to No. 6 Stanford on Nov. 9.
