BERKELEY – This week one Cal group competes in the Riviera ITA Women's All-American Championships starting Tuesday in Southern California, while another remains in the East Bay to play in the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational beginning Friday.

Along with seeking national titles at the All-American – which takes place at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades – the Golden Bears hope to qualify for the 2018 Oracle ITA National Championships, slated for Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Arizona. From the All-American, singles quarterfinalists, consolation singles champion, consolation singles finalist, doubles semifinalists, consolation doubles champion and consolation doubles finalist earn berths to the national fall championships.

Fresh from competing in the Cal Fall Invitational this past weekend, senior Olivia Hauger and sophomores Anna Bright and Julia Rosenqvist will attempt to qualify for the All-American singles main draw through qualifying singles running Tuesday and Wednesday at the Riviera Tennis Club. The pair of Hauger and Rosenqvist is also playing in qualifying doubles, opening against Florida State's Nandini Das and Ariana Rahmanparast. Main draw singles and doubles will take place from Thursday through Sunday at the Riviera Tennis Club.

At 10:30 a.m. in Tuesday's opening round of 64, Rosenqvist – seeded fifth at the tournament and ranked 28th – faces Boston College's 116th-ranked Yufei Long, while the 11th-seeded and 34th-ranked Hauger takes on Wisconsin's Lexi Keberle. The sixth-seeded and 29th-ranked Bright plays North Carolina's 50th-ranked Celia Ruiz at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

This week marks the debuts of Rosenqvist and Bright at the All-American. Rosenqvist didn't join the Bears until last spring, while Bright played at the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational last year, winning top-flight singles and doubles titles. This is Hauger's second trip to the national tournament.
