SEATTLE, Washington – California track & field took home one conference title and six marks on the school's all-time top 10 list on day one of the MPSF Championship on Friday at Dempsey Indoor.

Lauren Martinez claimed the MPSF Championship in the pole vault as she tied an all-time personal best and set an indoor best with a mark of 13-9.25. That clearance ties for the second-best mark in school history. Martinez cleared three bars without missing. She was one of two competitors to clear 13-9.25 as she did so on her first attempt. Martinez led as both competitors passed the bar at 13-11.25 to attempt to gain a mark that would qualify them for NCAA Championships. Martinez narrowly missed on all three attempts at 14-1.25 and her season-best mark would sit in a tie for 20th coming into this week's competition.

The Bears started off the meet with nine points in the women's weight throw competition. Camryn Rogers posted a freshman school record and the third-best mark in school history when she launched her third throw 66-7.75. Senior Destiny Parker added three points as she had a throw of 62-8.75 on her second attempt. Imani Bierly finished in 13th with a throw of 54-5.25.

Cal's distance medley relay team of Brie Oakley, Jacqueline Chandler, Jordyn Colter and Bethan Knights added five points to the cause as they took fourth place with a time of 11:22.53. That mark placed the foursome in fifth place on the school's all-time record book.

The men's distance medley relay team took third place and earned six points as they crossed the line in 9:49.97. The foursome of John Hogan, Ben Micallef, Nikolaus Moore and Andrew Burkhardt finished less than a second behind Washington State for second place.

Freshman Noelle Schiller took fifth place in the women's long jump with a leap of 19-6.00 as she add three points to the Bears' total.

Silviu Bocancea added a point for the men's team as he finished in eighth with a weight throw of 60-2.50.

Ashtyn Davis put on a show in the prelims of the 60m hurdles as he crossed the line in 7.75 seconds. That was the top qualifying time and was tied for the eighth-fastest time in the country coming into the season, which would put him in position to earn an invitation to the NCAA Championship. Davis will go for the MPSF Championship tomorrow at 11:35 a.m. PT.

Diab Davis also advanced to Saturday's competition as he claimed the eighth and final spot in 60m qualifying. Davis ran 6.89 seconds and finished second in his heat to ensure his spot in the finals.
