STANFORD, Calif. – California track & field earned another individual victory on day two of the Pac-12 Championship at Cobb Track & Angell Field.

Tuomas Kaukolahti claimed a conference title for the second time this year as he won the triple jump by more than a foot. Kaukolahti recorded a season-best leap of 52-8.25 on his third attempt. That jump gave him a 15.25 inch lead that he never surrendered. Kaukolahti passed his final three attempts and walked away with a Pac-12 Championship after winning the MPSF Championship in the triple jump during indoor season. Tristan Meye recorded a fifth place finish with a jump of 50-4.50. Meye recorded his jump on the first attempt of the competition.

California finished in sixth place in the men's side as they racked up 67 points. 39 of those points came from two events as the throws group excelled in both the discus and the shot put. On the women's side, the Bears finished with 40 points and took home eighth place. The Bears finished the Pac-12 Championship with two titles and 10 medals.

The throws unit continued to standout on Sunday afternoon as McKay Johnson and Malik McMorris collected spots on the podium in the men's discus. Johnson recorded a throw of 179-7 on his first trip into the ring. Johnson notched second place for the second time this weekend after grabbing eight points in yesterday's shot put contest. McMorris bettered his fifth-place finish from a year ago with a throw of 179-2. The junior was in eighth place prior to that throw which moved him up the leaderboard.

Amarie Bremel and Kendall Mader stood out in the women's discus competition. Bremel moved into ninth on the school's all-time list as she recorded a throw of 174-6 to better her best throw by nearly three feet. Bremel was in fourth until the final throw, when she unleashed that career-best to pass teammate Kendall Mader and take third. Mader posted a season-best mark of 174-4 and finished in fourth. Her mark was three inches off of her career high.

Senior Ashley Anderson posted a season-best performance in the triple jump as she leaped 42-9.75 on her final jump to take third place in the triple jump. Anderson attended the UC Berkeley graduation ceremony on Saturday and then travelled to Stanford to compete in her final Pac-12 Championship today. Isabella Marten finished in 11th.

After qualifying for the finals yesterday, both Paramveer Chohan and Garrett Corcoran claimed fifth-place finishes on Sunday. Chohan ran a career-best 400m hurdle time of 51.89. Chohan set his personal best in yesterday's prelims with a time of 51.92, but he was able to better that in today's final. Corcoran closed the 1500m strong and took fifth with a time of 3:45.34, bettering his mark from yesterday's prelims by more than two seconds.

Ashtyn Davis finished in seventh in the men's 110m hurdles to claim two points for the Bears. Davis was neck-and-neck with Oregon's Braxton Canady for the whole race. However, Davis tripped over the eighth hurdle and fell. However, he got up and crossed the line to ensure he collected the team points.

The Bears will now prepare for the NCAA Regional Meet in Sacramento, which will take place May 24-26 at Hornet Stadium.
