Last Time Vs. UCSB: Del Mundo Sparks Cal's 3-0 Win
Alonzo Del Mundo assisted on all three goals in California's 3-0 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 7 at Harder Stadium. The Golden Bears and Del Mundo had a masterful performance, especially in the first half, to topple the Gauchos.

The Bears scored just 45 seconds into the game, as Del Mundo crossed the ball into the Gauchos' six-yard box, and freshman forward Arman Samimi ran across the face of the goal to disrupt the UCSB defense and goalkeeper Ben Roach. Samimi got a touch on the ball, which senior defender Simon Lekressner collected and fired past the stunned Gauchos to give Cal the 1-0 lead.

The Del Mundo to Samimi connection worked again in the 14th minute, as this time Samimi tapped in another dangerous cross to give the Bears a 2-0 lead.

Cal turned away two good UCSB chances in the 17th minute, as first Drake Callender – back early from U.S. U-23 training camp – saved Will Baynham's shot and then defender Ian Lonergan headed Carter Clemmensen's follow-up shot off the line.

Del Mundo struck again in the 39th minute, this time from a corner kick, as junior forward Tommy Williamson headed in his second goal in as many games from 10 yards out, and Cal led 3-0.

Callender made two of his five saves in the second half, and the Bears went on to prevail, 3-0.
