Busy Stretch Begins With Three Vs. Oregon

After Series Against The Ducks, Bears Host BYU In Non-Conference Game

Story Links

The Cal baseball team will keep busy hosting a stretch of four games over four days, beginning with a Pac-12 weekend series against Oregon and a non-conference game Monday vs. BYU.

The Bears took one out of three at No. 1 UCLA last weekend. They are coming off a 12-4 non-conference victory Tuesday over Sacramento State but haven't hosted a conference foe since sweeping Washington State on April 5-7. That changes this weekend, when the Bears and Ducks play a 7:05 p.m. series opener Friday followed by a 3:05 p.m. game Saturday and a 1:05 matinee Sunday.

All three games will be live streamed, and information on accessing that (along with live stats) can be found on the baseball schedule page at CalBears.com. The series can also be heard on KALX radio 90.7 FM, at kalx.berkeley.edu/live-streaming and on TuneIn Radio. Monday's 3:05 p.m. game against BYU will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.

Cal tied a season high with 16 hits Tuesday against Sacramento State and got a four-RBI performance from junior Korey Lee. The Bears homered four times, and it marked the sixth time this season that they've gone deep four times in a game. Their 51 homers rank second in the Pac-12 behind only Arizona State (61). Andrew Vaughn leads Cal with 11 long balls with Lee right behind him at 10.

Pitching-wise, Cal is one of five teams in the conference with an ERA below 4.00 (at 3.99).
