MILWAUKEE – California men's tennis will be well-represented in Sunday's quarterfinals of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, with Paul Barretto and Jack Molloy advancing in the singles draw and both Golden Bear doubles teams getting to the final eight in Saturday action at the Western Racquet Club.
 
Cal juniors Barretto and Molloy each won twice in singles on Saturday. Molloy, ranked 83rd, defeated Vuk Budic of Illinois, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6(5), in the round of 32 and topped USC's 88th-ranked Jake Sands, 6-2, 6-3, in the round of 16. Barretto, ranked 121st, beat Kentucky's 116th-ranked Kento Yamada, 6-3, 6-0, and USC's 58th-ranked Bradley Frye, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, to joined Molloy in the quarters.
 
The pair of Barretto and Can Kaya – the defending doubles champion and the top seed in Milwaukee – beat VCU's Rayane Stable and Daniel Khin, 8-3, in the round of 16. Meanwhile, the duo of Hoffmann and Molloy bested Wisconsin's Lenard Soha and Jared Pratt, 8-5, in the round of 16.

In consolation play, Kaya fell to Notre Dame's Matthew Gamble, 7-6(11), 0-6, 12-10, and Hoffmann lost to Pepperdine's Enrique Luque Rico, 7-6(3), 6-2, in the round of 32.
 
The MTC ends with the finals on Monday.
 
SAN FRANCISCO – Yuta Kikuchi advanced to the Battle in the Bay Classic singles round of 16 on Saturday, with the 75th-ranked Cal sophomore beating USC's Ryder Jackson, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, at the California Tennis Club. But the tournament's seventh seed lost in the quarterfinals later in the day to Michigan's second-seeded Ondrej Styler, 6-4, 7-5.
 
Cal's Kent Hunter and Mert Zincirli played consolation singles matches on Saturday, with Hunter falling to San Diego's Sacchitt Sharrma, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(8), and Zincirli losing to Boston College's Derek Austin, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0(8), in the round of 32.
 
In an extra doubles match on Saturday, Cal's pair of Kikuchi and Hunter knocked off San Francisco's Johan Garpered and David Woodland, 8-7(5).
