CORVALLIS - The California softball team opened Pac-12 play getting no-hit as Oregon State shut out the Golden Bears, 6-0, Friday night from the OSU Sports Complex.
Oregon State notched solo home runs in the first and the third inning before taking a commanding lead with a three-run homer in the fifth.
Makena Smith walked twice, and
Sophie Medellin also walked.Â
Chloe Romero suffered her first loss of the season, falling to 6-1 on the year. She collected a pair of strikeouts.Â
The Bears (11-5, 0-1) and Beavers continue their series with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 1:30 p.m.
