BERKELEY – California got a match-high 10 kills from

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears battled throughout the first set and tied the score at 15-15 on a kill from Meyer. After Washington took a three-point lead at 23-20, Cal came out of a timeout to score three in a row on a
Bella Bergmark kill,
Sam Taumoepeau block and Meyer kill to knot it up again. UW scored the final two points of the set on a kill and Cal error to take the opening frame and a 1-0 lead.Â
Washington was able to use extended runs in both the second and third sets, turning a 10-10 tie in the third into an 18-10 lead and Cal couldn't recover as the Huskies closed out the match. Â
