AT A GLANCE
  • Hat Trick: Senior forward Rachel Buttinger accomplished something that hasn't happened since game one in 2018 – recorded a hat trick. Buttinger becomes the first player to score three in a game since Megan Rodgers scored three times against Providence on Aug. 24, 2018. Coincidentally, in two-consecutive meetings against Bryant, the Bears have had a player score three times. Rodgers scored three times against the Bulldogs in the previous meeting between the two teams on Sep. 8, 2017.
  • Clean sheet for Knipping: For the eighth time in her career, Cato Knipping recorded a shutout when she combined with Tina Jolly to keep Bryant off the scoreboard. Knipping finished the day with three saves.
  • Second Half Impact: In the win over Bryant last Sunday Cal scored five times after the intermission. This season, the Golden Bears have scored 15 goals – 13 of them have come after the break.
  • Season High: Cal notched a pair of season-bests last Sunday. The five goals scored was a season-high as well as the 25 shots taken and the 16 shots on goal.
  • Season Low: The Bears' defense stymied Bryan last Sunday, holding the host Bulldogs to just three shots – the fewest the Golden Bears have allowed this season.
  • National Numbers: The Bears rank 14th in the nation in defensive save and are 17th in the nation in saves per game. Knipping is fifth in the nation in saves per game at 7.00 saves a game.
  • Sharing The Wealth: Kiki de Bruijne scored her first goal of the season last Sunday. She is the eighth different player to send the ball to the back of the cage. Buttinger leads the team with four goals, followed by Sara Stone and Monica Arteaga who have three each.
