Postgame Notes: Stanford 31, California 10

  • Cal and Stanford met in the 128th Big Game on Saturday.
  • Cal had won each of the last four times the Big Game was played, five of the last six and each of the previous three at Stanford Stadium prior to a 31-10 Cardinal victory on Saturday.
  • WR Jacob De Jesus finished with 14 receptions for 96 yards. De Jesus now has 87 receptions through 11 games to rank fourth on Cal's all-time single-season reception list. De Jesus started Saturday's game in seventh place before moving past Bobby Shaw (75), Bryce Treggs (77) and Geoff McArthur (85). De Jesus also had 113 all-purpose yards in the contest and surpassed the career 4,000 mark. He now has 4,078 career all-purpose yards.
  • WR Trond Grizzell had a career-high nine catches for 104 yards. In three Big Games over the past three seasons, Grizzell has combined for 20 receptions, 310 yards receiving and three touchdown catches.
  • QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele set career highs in completions and attempts, going 33-for-49 for 269 yards passing with no touchdowns or interceptions. Sagapolutele also ran for a 7-yard touchdown to cap a 15-play second-quarter drive that covered 75 yards and took 8:19 off the clock. It was Cal's longest scoring drive of the season in terms of plays.
  • Sagapolutele has begun his collegiate career with 11 consecutive games of 200 yards or more passing and is the only Power 4 and second FBS player to ever record at least 11 straight games of 200 yards or more passing to begin a collegiate career. Houston's David Piland began his career with 14 straight games of 200 or more yards passing spanning the 2010 and 2012 seasons (did not play in 2011).
  • The Stanford field goal attempt blocked by Dru Polidore Jr. in the second quarter was Cal's first since T.J. Bollers blocked af field goal in the third quarter at Wake Forest on Nov. 8, 2024.
  • DL Derek Wilkins had two pass breakups to give him eight on the season.
  • Cal had a single sack to extend its string of consecutive games with at least one sack to 23.
