Cal Snaps 3-Game Losing Skid With Win Over Tigers

STOCKTON – The California softball team defeated Pacific 6-5 on Tuesday evening at Bill Simoni Field.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning.

Madison Rey responded in the second with her first home run of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

In the third, Gator Robinson gave the Bears their first lead with a solo shot to left field to make it 2-1.

Cal added three runs in the fourth to extend the advantage to 5-1. Sophia Everett and Robinson each drove in a run with singles, and Robinson later scored on a Pacific fielding error.

Kayli Counts pushed the lead to 6-1 in the fifth on a fielder's choice.

Pacific cut into the deficit with a solo home run in the sixth to make it 6-2.

The Tigers mounted a late rally in the seventh, scoring three runs, but were unable to bring home the tying run as the Bears held on for the 6-5 victory.
