• All-American in the long jump after his seventh place finish at the NCAA's

2015: Made his Cal debut during the indoor season at the New Mexico Team Invitational in the long jump with an 11th place finish with a leap of 23-1.75 (7.05m) ... Placed 14th in the 60-meters at the MPSF Championships (6.95) and helped the 4x400-meter relay team place eighth in Seattle (3:17.47) ... Made his outdoor debut in four events at the Cal Outdoor Opener in Berkeley (200-meters, 4x100-meter relay, 4x4 and long jump) on 3/7 with a second place finish (21.41), second place finish (41.13), third place finish (3:16.43) and another third place finish (24-5.50), respectively ... Placed second in the long jump at the Big Meet with a leap of 24-0.75 and helped win the 4x1 (41.45) at Stanford ... Finished third at the Pac-12 Championships in the long jump with a mark of 25-1.25 (7.65m) and helped the 4x1 to a fifth place finish (40.42) ... Qualified for the NCAA Championships at the NCAA West Prelims in Austin with a 10th place finish in the long jump with a wind-aided mark of 25-7.25 (7.80m) ... Earned All-American status with a seventh place finish in Eugene at the NCAA Championships in the long jump with a leap of 25-6.75 (7.79m) to set a new legal PR.

Previous School: Attended Oregon State, where he was a member of their football team and also participated in indoor track & field ... ran a 7.00 60-meters at the UW Preview … Jumped a season-best 23’ 8.75” in the long jump at the Husky Classic ... Redshirted during the 2013 football season for the Beavers.

High School: Was not only a prep standout in track, but also football at Redlands HS … he was  one of the elite jumpers in California … also an outstanding sprinter … as a junior he was a nominee for the Gatorade National Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year … Placed third at the California state meet in the long jump in 2013 ... His PR’s are: 24-11.75 (long jump), 10.66 (100-meters) and 21.38 (200-meters). His father, Dr. Walt Jones, Sr. is ranked tenth on Cal’s All-Time Performers List in the 400-meters (46.45 in 1986) and was a member of the fourth ranked 4x400-meter relay team (3:05.77 in 1986).has a sister that also excels in track ... In football helped Redlands advance to the second round of the playoffs and recorded 24 receptions for 598 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior … also made 28 tackles as a senior playing defensive back … returned punts for Redlands.
