Final Stats
TEMPE, Ariz. - Equaling her 2011 total for homers in only the second game of the 2012 season, senior Jace Williams drove in three runs with a home run to center en route to the No. 3/4 California softball team's 5-0 win over Bradley on Saturday morning.
Valerie Arioto posted a two-hitter in the circle, striking out 11 and walking three. This was Arioto's first pitching appearance since 2010 for she did not pitch with the U.S. senior team over the summer.
The Golden Bears improve to 2-0 while the Braves drop to 1-2.
Cal tallied four runs in the first and tacked on another in the fourth.
Britt Vonk scored a team-high two runs while Breana Kostreba and Cheyenne Cordes paced the Bears with two hits apiece. Valerie Arioto and Danielle Henderson drove in the other two runs.
Bottom of the First - Bradley 0, California 4:
With Britt Vonk on second and Valerie Arioto at first, Williams went yard to put the Bears up by three. After being hit by a pitch, Breana Kostreba moved to third thanks to a single up the middle by Cheyenne Cordes and then came home on a single from Danielle Henderson.
Bottom of the Fourth - Bradley 0, California 5:
Vonk reached and moved to second on an error by the pitcher, and moved to third when Jamia Reid grounded out to second. Arioto then singled up the middle for a two-out RBI.

The Bears stay at Farrington Stadium for a 10:30 a.m. PT match-up with Texas State. Sunday concludes Cal's desert trip with a 10 a.m. PT game against Syracuse.
