No. 14 Cal Continues Pac-12 Slate Vs. Arizonas

BERKELEY – Fourteenth-ranked California continues Pac-12 Conference play when it hosts Arizona and Arizona State this week at the Hellman Tennis Complex. The 6-3 Golden Bears (1-0 in the Pac-12) hope to extend a two-match winning streak when they take on the Wildcats (8-5, 0-2 Pac-12) at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and the Sun Devils (5-6, 0-2 Pac-12) at 12 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Time: Bears Beat Ducks In Pac-12 Opener
Nineteenth-ranked Cal began Pac-12 play 1-0 after beating Oregon, 5-2, on March 8 in Eugene, Oregon, as Katerina Stloukalova clinched the overall win and – with Maria Smith – clinched the doubles point for the Golden Bears. Stloukalova bested Daniela Nasser, 6-4, 6-1, at court-two singles to secure the victory. In doubles, the Cal junior and Smith, a senior co-captain, defeated Taryn Fujimori and Julia Eshet, 6-1, on court three to give Cal a 1-0 lead.
 
Poll Position
Cal is ranked 14th in Tuesday's Oracle ITA poll and was ranked 19th in the March 6 Tennis Channel/USTA Top 25 (with the next poll coming out Wednesday).
 
Four Golden Bears were ranked in the most recent (March 5) Oracle ITA singles poll in No. 24 Olivia Hauger (19-6 record), No. 25 Julia Rosenqvist (19-9), No. 74 Anna Bright (17-8) and – for the first time this season – No. 115 Katerina Stloukalova (14-6). The pair of Bright and sophomore Jasie Dunk (11-6) was ranked 23rd, the team of Rosenqvist and sophomore Hana Mraz (4-2) was ranked 26th and the duo of Mraz and Stloukalova (7-1) was ranked 50th in the March 5 doubles poll. New individual singles and doubles rankings are due out March 19.
