BERKELEYBjorn Hoffmann clinched No. 17 California's victory over Nevada on Saturday, lifting the Golden Bears to a 4-0 lead over the Wolf Pack, and Cal went on to complete a 7-0 rout of the visitors at the Hellman Tennis Complex.

Hoffmann, a senior, defeated Benjamin Campi, 6-1, 6-0, at court-six singles to secure the victory.

The teams played out the final three matches, with Kent Hunter's 7-6, 6-2 win over Daniel Dudockin on court four ending the day at Hellman.

The Bears secured the doubles point when Yuta Kikuchi and Jack Molloy bested Dudockin and Campi, 6-3, on court three. Cal also collected a win on court one from Paul Barretto and Can Kaya, who topped Julien Evrard and Isaac Nortey, 6-1.

"We had a very good week of practice, and we continue to improve our level of tennis. Reno is a tough team, and they pushed our guys today," said Peter Wright, Cal's Director of Men's Tennis. "We're working on being more aggressive in how we finish points, but we're also working on balancing aggressiveness with effective decision-making when we're starting points – especially in doubles.

"The next week will be spent preparing for the second half of our season, which starts with Oklahoma State at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club."

Cal plays Oklahoma State on March 5 in La Jolla, California, where the Bears will also compete in the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship from March 6-8.
