Draper, Hoffmann Reach Doubles Semifinals

LA JOLLA, Calif. – California's Ben Draper and Bjorn Hoffmann won twice on Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.
 
The Cal duo, No. 38 in this week's Oracle ITA rankings, defeated Stanford's 10th-seeded Filip Kolasinski and Alexandre Rotsaert in the round of 16, 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-1, and then bested San Diego State's Ignacio Martinez and Rafael Gonzalez Almazan, 6-4, 6-4, in the quarterfinals.
 
The Bears will face the third-seeded team of USC's Colter Smith and former Trojan Tanner Smith in the Sunday semis at 10 a.m. The final is slated for 12:30 p.m.
 
Two other Cal pairs played in Saturday's round of 16. But the 16th-seeded Kent Hunter and Thomas Wright fell to USC's third-seeded Stefan Dostanic and Jake Sands, 6-3, 6-3, while Yuta Kikuchi and Jack Molloy lost to Oklahoma State's second-seeded Matej Vocel and Scoville Jenkins, 6-7(5), 7-5, 7-6(5).
