BERKELEY – California track & field is set for its biggest weekend yet this outdoor season, returning home to Edwards Stadium for the Brutus Hamilton Invitational and Multis. The decathlon and heptathlon are scheduled for Thursday-Friday while the remaining events will be contested on Saturday. Cal will recognize its graduating seniors in a short ceremony on Saturday afternoon, just before the women's and men's 4x400m relay races.

Pac-12 foes Oregon (men and women), UCLA (women) and Washington (men and women) will also be in attendance. The Bruins' women are currently ranked 11th in the nation by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) while the Ducks' women are listed at No. 25. On the men's side, the Huskies are ranked 15th and the Golden Bears 20th.

Two Cal athletes have set school records this outdoor season: senior Amari Turner (pole vault) and junior Caisa-Marie Lindfors (discus). Turner came into the year already owning a share of the No. 1 mark but surpassed it with a clearance of 4.32m (14-2) in her season debut at the Hornet Invitational (March 15-16), earning Pac-12 Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts. She then bettered that mark less than two weeks later with a winning 4.35m (14-3.25) in the women's collegiate A section at the Texas Relays, and is currently in a tie for fourth best in Division I. Lindfors, who set Cal's indoor shot put record earlier this year, also opened her outdoor season with a school record, winning the women's elite section at the Stanford Invitational (March 30) with a throw of 61.44m (201-7) that shattered the previous No. 1 mark by 3.86m (12-2). She currently sits at No. 2 in Division I and No. 15 on the 2024 world list.

The Bears currently boast nine event squads (five men's, four women's) in the national top 25, with the men's long jumpers ranked No. 1 overall. Two of those long jumpers – senior Mason Mangum (No. 7) and sophomore Jason Plumb (No. 12) – are also ranked as individuals in the All-Conditions Top 25, along with 10 other Cal representatives across eight events. Mangum's personal-best mark of 7.86mw (25-9.5), set at the Hornet Invitational, earned him Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors to start off the season.
