Osman is competing in her second Olympics, where she was the only Egyptian female swimmer and placed 41st in the 50m free with a time of 26.34. She is the Cal record-holder in the 50y free (21.32), set during her victory at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships. Osman also won the 100y fly at the 2016 Pac-12 meet. At the 2016 NCAA Championships, she was the runner-up in the 50y free and placed third in the 100y fly. A two-time finalist in the 50m fly at the World Championships, Osman owns numerous African records in the free and fly events. She won a gold medal in the 50m fly at the 2011 World Junior meet.
