Thomas qualified for Rio by finishing second in the 100m fly at the Canadian Olympic Trials in a PR 57.02. She earned a silver medal in the 100m fly and on the 400m medley relay at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto and later placed eighth in the 100m fly at the 2015 World Championships. She was seventh in the event at Worlds in 2013. Thomas, who will be a junior at Cal in the fall, finished sixth in the 100y fly at the 2016 NCAA Championships. She is a Scholar All-American and Pac-12 All-Academic team member.
