Boyle, who is competing in her third Olympic Games, set a Cal record in the 1650-yard free. She helped the Bears to their first NCAA team title in 2009. Boyle owns the world record in the short-course version of the 1500m free. At the 2015 World Championships, she earned silver medals for her finishes in the 800m and 1500m free, and claimed bronze in the 400m free, 800m free and 1500m at the 2013 World meet. In 2014, Boyle claimed gold in the 400m at the Commonwealth Games.
