Baker earned her place on the U.S. team with a second-place finish in the 100m backstroke at the Olympic Trials and owns a best of 59.29 in the event. She was a finalist in the 100m back at the 2015 World Championships (8th). Baker, who will be a sophomore at Cal in 2016-17, was runner-up in the 200-yard IM at the 2016 NCAA Championships. She has additional international experience that includes finishing ninth in the 100m back at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, and taking a silver medal in the 200m free relay and placing sixth in the 100m back at the 2014 FINA Short Course World Championships.
