Rising junior is one of the top two-way players in the MPSF – a defensive-minded driver who also has the ability to score. In her first two years at Cal, she helped the Bears reach the semifinals of the NCAA Championships, scoring 89 goals over the seasons. She was named an ACWPC Third Team All-American following her sophomore season after receiving honorable mention as a freshman. She and teammate Dora Antal have helped bring Hungary’s women’s water polo program to international prominence, as the Hungarians won the 2016 European Championship with both Illes and Antal in the pool. Illes also helped Hungary win the silver medal at the 2011 World Championships and the bronze at the 2013 World Championships.
