Rising junior qualified for the Rio games in the single at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. He’s also appeared twice at the World Rowing Junior Championships as well as the World Rowing U23 Championships, taking first in 2013. He has a pair of top-5 finishes at the U23 Championships and also participated in the 2016 World Cup. Wegrzycki-Szymczyk was part of the Bears’ Varsity 8 that won the Pac-12 championship and IRA championship in 2016, and was named the Pac-12 Men’s Athlete of the Year. He was part of the same boats that took second in both events in 2015.
